Rose Horcher

Rose Horcher

Vice President, Client Services
Choose Chicago

Born in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Rose earned her Bachelor of Arts / Journalism at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  After nearly two decades of working in the convention industry she joined Choose Chicago as Managing Director, Client Services in July of 2006.

Prior to joining Choose Chicago, Rose’s career included working for a variety of tradeshow/hospitality industry organizations, providing a diversity of experiences and an understanding of the needs of convention managers.

Her first entry into the tradeshow world was with Marvin Park & Associates (now called Bacon/Hedlund Management). From there she moved on to the National Sporting Goods Association as their Director of Tradeshow Operations, and Director of Trade Show Sales for BAX Global.  Rose then moved in to the housing arena, working in sales for Expovision, and third-party management for Conferon (now called Experient), followed by two years of corporate planning for Sears Holding.  Approached by Choose Chicago for the position of Managing Director of Client Services, she jumped at the opportunity, realizing that working for the Chicago convention bureau was a chance to pull all of her past convention-related experiences together for the betterment of shows that chose Chicago as their host city.

Rose was promoted to Vice President, Client Services in 2011 and currently manages a staff of (8) full-time staff and (12) on-call staff. In addition to her responsibilities of managing the many services offered to convention and meeting clients in Chicago, she also serves as the liaison between convention clients and Chicago’s Department of Aviation, Department of Streets & Sanitation, and the Chicago Police Department.  Rose and her team also facilitate the award-winning Chicago! “We’re Glad You’re Here!”® Program, Ambassador Program, and the Artist of the Year Program.

Rose is a long-time member of IAEE and PCMA.  She is a past MWC IAEE Board Chairman, has served on multiple IAEE MWC and GMC PCMA committees.  Rose is the recipient of the 2011 PCMA Distinguished Services Professional of The Year Award  and the GMC PCMA 2012 Richard A Daignault Award.
